Overpriced COAs never appealed to me. I'd much rather get an auto in person or scour ebay for an unlicensed ball I know is legit. I can tell if a Berkman/Oswalt/Bagwell/Pence auto is legit. No way in hell I would pay a premium for a steiner/tri star authentication.
