I know, wrong sport for this..but it just deals with trading in general. Did I overreact with this guy? I feel like I basically called him an idiot in a slightly more eloquent way.

If someone offers you $200 value in cards, that's a rip off.
Most buy 25-40% BV(same as cash value).
25%=$44 40%=$70

So first Rodger's values haven't changed at all in the past year? Alright..try this one then:
Aaron Rodgers Contenders - $100 Low/$175 Hi
So you're telling me people bought Aaron Rodgers Contenders auto's a year ago for $44-70? I wish! I would have bought 10 of them if they were $44! They were selling for $100-$125; just like they are right now.
In the case of the Ultimate Collection auto, you have to consider it's only one of three different variants of his on-card autographs in his true rookies. In 2005, he had the Exquisite RAP /99; his SPA RAP /99; ad the Ultimate Collection autograph. That's about a third of the normal production of a high-end..people take that limited print run into account. That's the only reason why DeAngelo Williams or Jay Cutler on-card rookie AU's cost so much.
Every case is different, and this is just another one.
Again, thanks for your time. Enjoy the day, I'm very glad the government came through for you--best of luck in your future endeavors.
