Re: http://www.silvertowneauctions.com/HARMON-KILLEBREW-AUTOGRAPHED-BASEBALL-RAWLINGS-BALL_i22511521

Feel free to check out all of the other "signed" baseballs. Many are clearly written (poorly) by the same hand. I send them an email indicating that they are all terrible forgeries and asking if the have someone on task to prevent such from entering the auction and market. This is the reply I get:

"These sports items are consigned by a long time sports collector who purchased them over a period of time. Most do not have a COA so we are selling "AS IS" with no guarantees. We believe them to be original, but we are not Authenticators of Autographs. Thanks. "

Over a period of time, my ass.

Some in the auction are good... but here are some REALLY bads:

I wont claim to be a hand writing expert but you can tell several were done by the same person. The Rose, Seaver, Morgan and Musial are all done by the same hand. Doubt they sell. Someone probably found them and think they have stumbled upon a fortune.

That silver towne is in a small rural Indiana town not far from me.

Is it a franchise? I always thought it was a mom and pop joint.

They are one of the biggest coins/metals dealers, and are definitely legit... its sad when a company expands into something they're clueless about.

I consider myself to not be a killebrew expert, but a killebrew collector who has a reasonable amount of knowledge. And that killebrew ball auto is terrible.....just awful

Yeah, I think even basic knowledge eliminates a group of those balls right off of the bat.
I am hoping no one buys them as I'd hate for them to actually hit any part of the market.

After looking at the BBB it appears Silvertowne Auctions is not in the same state as Silvertowne Coins, so I am thinking they are either different people or overseen by a different manager. Silvertowne Coins has a BBB rating of A+ which doesn't surprise me. These card people though are unrated, if an auto expert wants to write a review here you go-

Agree, you can tell they're done by the same person. And all shaky too like they are trying to hard to write it. Joe Morgan is not even close...although, there was another Joe Morgan who played in the 60's I believe.
