Has anybody had any issues carrying large amounts of BGS slabs through airport security? With the ridiculous regulations these days, has anybody had a problem where TSA claimed the slab could be used as a weapon or anything crazy? I obviously wouldn't want to have my stuff go through checked luggage.

Not sure, but can't blame you for asking. I would think you would be ok though.

Yeah, I hope so.

I emailed TSA, giving my best description (and even a picture) of a BGS slab. The person who reads it will probably think I'm the weirdest person on the planet.

That's why there is no way in hell they are going through the checked baggage process.

Now that I think about it, when I saw you write Slabs on a Plane, I thought "Samuel L!"

I’ve taken a lot of slabs on a lot of planes. I’ve gotten stopped + tsa has @ least looked @ 1 box of cards/slabs EVERY single time. The amount/painfulness of the question depends on the airport. Smaller airports (like long beach in ca or las Vegas) tend to be far easier- explain they’re sports cards, show them 1-2 boxes of slabs, bam, you’re through. Other airports (john wayne, ny, dc, sfo) tend to be more thorough. sfo/dc made me take out EVERY single freaking box of cards + slabs + then made me go through the extended security probing.

if @ all possible, i'd highly recommend shipping the cards to someone you trust w/your life to save yourself the TSA hassle (not to mention the back pain, but maybe that's b/c i carry a lot of freaking slabs/cards in my carryons).

Whatever you do, make sure this is not one of the slabbed cards.
It might cause some suspicion amongst the airport screeners.

Anywhere Delta goes.
I travel every week for work and bring the cards with me that I have sold on Ebay the previous weekend. The last few weeks I have carried cards in BGS holders and have had no problems what so ever.

TSA has given me problems a few times. Usually they don't care if its a few cards, but if you have a box, they will most likely ask you to show it to them. It is usually not a problem, but depends on the airport and the mood of the TSA guard.
