You know all along people have been wanting this fight. Of course GSP would have to gain a lot of weight, but even at that. Honestly, I dont think GSP would stand much of a chance. Dont get me wrong GSP is my favorite fighter, but Silva is just a freak of nature. There was rumors after the Griffin vs Silva fight GSP would go up on stage and challenge Silva. I am guessing that wasnt true or GSP saw what Silva did to Griffin and decided to keep his mouth shut.

I don't think that's true because very soon after the fight White announced that Silva's next fight is against Hendo for the title. Also, we don't know the extent of GSP's groin injury, but I'm sure he has his corner man working it and rubbing it down daily.

Silva walks around at 200, GSP barely can make 170, so I think it'd be tough for him to get up to 185 (GSP that is). With that being said I think Silva would take him apart like a cheap watch.

People said that about Alves and his striking ability too.

GSP is one of the smartest, if not the smartest fighters around. He knows how to beat people, not just how to fight them.

I think Silva would win, and if he could, it would definitely solidify his claim as #1 p4p

I want GSP to win, but, Im not sure he could handle the weight increase well enough

The only person I think who could beat Silva is Machida and they won't ever fight due to "friendship" (I think Silva knows that Machida knows him best and is the smartest fighter by far in the world, but that's just me...).

Eh.. it would be fun and I would definately buy it, but it's just not going to happen. Not unless GSP gains all that weight. Silva is only moving up from here, not down. Anderson is a mainstay from here on out in LHW. Possible HW fight or two?...

GSP said after his last fight that he walks around at 183 so making 185 wouldn't be a problem and Alves was about 195lbs when they fought and GSP manhandled him so we know GSP can handle bigger opponents. I think though that a motivated Anderson Silva is as close to unbeatable as a fighter can be.

I give GSP a shot simply because of how he has now pretty much turned himself into a wrestler, and a great one at that. I dont really remember Silva facing any great wrestlers yet. I know Henderson is a wrestler but I always thought he used his wrestling more to keep the fight standing. The only time I can remember Silva on his back for a while was when he almost got stopped by Lutter. GSP's wrestling is as good as anyones and he can certainly control people on the ground.

I dont think the weight would be too much of an issue. I wouldnt mind if this fight happens but its certainly something that I must see.

This fight doesnt interest me very much. I dont like it when one guy has to gain a bunch of weight (or lose a bunch) and fight out of their natural weight class.
