I'm not sure I could even describe my collection.

"You see Chase, this card is RED man! There's only five of them! And this one? Well it has a piece of your all star work-out jersey in it. This one is a mini card, see how some Topps receptionist hand numbered the back? Oh here is one, it's gold, we call it a refractor. Trust me dude, I've only seen two of em.

Actually maybe these guys would be pretty pumped to see this stuff. Is Denker excited when you showed him your plates?

I know you have spoken with him, but have you gotten his auto yet?

No, I can't for professional reasons, but I'll bring in a ball and have someone sign it for me.

Hahaha yea it is tough explaining this stuff to non collectors.

Yea, at first he didnt know what they were (understandable for non-collectors) he asked if I made them and said no those are actually the printing plates they used to make your card. He thought it was a pretty cool item.

that is so cool.; but don't let him eat too much! LOL

I have ran into Jimmy Rollins a few times and he too is a classy guy. One time he was talking to a kid. He asked the kid if he played ball but the kid said he quit because he stank at it. Jimmy then told him of how he did the same thing too but later got back into it and now look at him. The kids face just lit up!
He also brought his dog to my local park a few times but the dog (akeda sp?) was not very nice and he said it just wont work out I guess.

Yeah, I just read this for the first time and it was one awesome read! You sir are a classy guy for respecting his space. Who knows, maybe you will get the chance to converse with him more in the future! Utley signed a ball for me a few seasons ago at the ballpark in Atlanta. He was an awesome guy!

The only time I can ever remember meeting a player outside of a ballpark was last summer. My wife and I took a trip to Dallas for a 3 day get-a-way... from Birmingham AL. So needless to say, most of the trip was spent driving. Anyway, I have become a big Rangers fans since Josh Hamilton has emerged. Call me a band-wagon fan, but I'm still a fan. Anyway, after a Saturday night game against the A's, my wife and I went to Walmart which is a short distance from the Rangers stadium and right accross the street from the Cowboys mega-stadium (very strange if you've never seen this). I was in the produce section when I see a lot of Hispanic looking people all wearing Nelson Cruz jerseys. I honestly was thinking man, they don't look like your typical fans... I bet that could be his family. So i continued looking for fruit or whatever else I was looking for when I see this behemoth of a man walk around the corner of one of the isles. It was of course Nelson Cruz. I was more or less stunned as Nelson Cruz is one of my favorite players on the team. I felt the need to talk to him... afterall how often do you get to meet Nelson Cruz in walmart?? I told him that we had driven a long way from Alabama to come see them play ball and that it was good to finally see them play in person. He was very cool... shook my hand and even thanked me for coming all that way. I didn't talk with him for long as I didn't want to make it awkward. Anyway, not nearly as cool as the Utley story... but it was a nice surprise for me.

I couldn't imagine meeting my favorite player during the prime of his career. Nicely done maintaining your professional demeanor!

Came in again tonight. His wife was in last week and told me they'd be back but didn't think she meant four days later

Had two bottles of Victory Yakima Glory IPA (my beer program is awesome 8-) ) simple, easy dinner. I swear his wife is the nicest freaking person ever. Thanked me by name on the way out :)

Can I have the same service he gets if I come there? ;)

For you weimer? Of course

edit: all the chefs were trying to send out plates of crazy food to him and I stopped all of them. (me and the bartenders ate them  ) They were clearly out for a "quick bite" and didn't want to overwhelm them.

Kitchen was pissed.

What is the restaurant? Do you guys have a website so I can look at the menu? If you'd prefer to PM it to me, that's fine. I'm a big foodie so I love looking at menus.

You guys located in Philly? I'm assuming at least somewhere in Pennsylvania. Since Chase Utley is eating there.

And what are your prices like? $? Or $$$$? :D

And by feed me do you mean give me like a 10% discount? Or just bring me lots of stuff and then leave me with a $100 bill and walk away?

Center City Philly! When I offer to feed you, that means I feed you. Your bill is what you drink.

Prices, in order:

Pizza $17 Paccheri $16 Fideua $18 Ravioli $21 Charcuterie $18

That's beyond reasonable, I think. especially since all the pork and bison we use is sourced locally and all produce is bio dynamic.

Wine list is sickly affordable too.

Damn. Those are reasonable prices. Now I need to find a way to make it to Philly. Can I eat there on the cheap for all of my meals? :D

And if all I have to pay for is drinks, I'm eating free. Cause I drink water.
