Does it mean that the Twins win the division since they were 11-7 against the Tigers or do they have a one game playoff?

Nope, there will be a 1 game playoff (game 163) at the Dome on Tuesday.

Last year the Twins and White Sox tied too, and they held the tiebreaker game in chicago even though Minnesota won the season series. After last year they changed the rule so if you win the season series, you get to host the tiebreaker game

Thanks to both of you for your help. I wasn't too sure about what would happen.

And the stats count the same as regular season game, which could help Porcello and Mauer in their chase for awards.

The reason it's on Tuesday instead of Monday is because of the (overly-hyped) MNF game.

The MNF football game, although isn't nearly as important, is NOT over-hyped. This game is going to be one of the most historic games in NFL history. The greatest quarterback of all time coming back to face his team.

Epic.

Of all time, I agree with the facepalm.
Of our generation, very, very hard to argue.

Maybe true, for now. By the time they retire, both Brady and Peyton will far surpass what Favre has done. (Assuming both stay healthy and play long enough).

Why would this be one of the most historic games in NFL history? A guy on a new team going back to play against his old team does not make it one of the most historic games in NFL history...

Easy to argue actually.

Payton Manning has a better arm, is more efficient and is smarter.

There you go.

Favre is a fine player, a hall of famer, but all those sexy records are due to his exceptional physical durability.....

This isn't even the big game. This is just the appetizer, the big game will be when he comes back to Green Bay.

It does not matter about the magnitude of the MNF game, it could be Jets -v- Dolphins and the game would not be moved.
Simple fact it was scheduled before game #163.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only time this wouldn't result in a one game playoff is if the top two teams in the same division finish with the same record, but one is the division winner and one is the wild card winner. Since they're both making the playoffs anyway, they decide who gets what by their head-to-head record.
