I think it's kind of unfair to have it in Atlanta just because it's convenient for the owner of the board.........

I think it should be in a more Central place of the country........say.......someplace like ST. LOUIS!!!!!!

Where a REAL baseball team plays......if everyone's interested in getting together for a game.........lol.

I'm being facetious with my my first sentence obviously.

I agree St Louis would be great for more people since its in a central location.

FIXED. 8-)

If you all came to St. Louis you could all see the AWESOME 'Ballpark Village' that surrounds Busch Stadium that was started in 2006. It's freaking AWESOME! It's got hotels, restaurants, shopping, a park!!!

Wait, what? Old Busch Stadium's site is still just a big empty lot?

Nevermind then! Nix that idea.

Way to go St. Louis! That place should be awesome by now! AS IT WAS PROMISED when the new ballpark was first discussed!

Only problem is the eastern coast would be pretty much under water, too. :? Any chance to move it to Denver? I'll bring onion dip and ruffles!

What an idea, you have there (not the onion dip and ruffles part). ;)

Dude, Ruffles made the BEST Loaded Baked Potato ripple chips EVER, but now I can't find them. I think they discontinued them, which sucks, because they were so rad.

They were called 'The Works'

I have to agree with what most here are saying, in that without a hint of even a generalization of when, and what to expect, I can not say anything other than a general interest. Having said that, while FCB is known well to us members, it's certinly not a well known 'hobby name' by any means(no disrespect intended) and I would think that less than 5% of people approached in shops/shows would even know what FCB is, and to jump in to the league of a 'nationals' type event would be fruitless. Sure, some of the FCB fanatics might make the trek, and perhaps some locals, but ultimately it would not be substantial, nor financially sustainable.

I think your best bet would be to rent some low end, local hall(s) and try to start off small. No need to try and run before you can walk. Also, maybe you could compound this by working with trusted members across the country, and have FCB promote, and finance local trade shows in their neck of the woods. This would in turn get the 'FCB' name recognised throughout the rest of the collecting world who frequent shows, and when the time comes to hold a 'national' type event, you will be in a much better position to achieve sucess.

Just my 2.

The city is huge and im sure Gilmore wouldn't do it IN the city. And yes, we should have an FCB outting to the strip clubs.

Any thought on tying this in with the national???? Many message boards have a dinner and get together at the national. This might be more cost effective for many members because we will be at the national anyway!

Just a thought!

Two thoughts....

1. Go big or go home.

2. Proactive event planning like this can make FCB a known site in the hobby. Market it correctly and you have a winner. But, you don't know if you don't try.

Debbie Downer??

Seriously though, dont take what I am saying the wrong way, and ofcourse you can do whatever you want to do, thats a given. I suppose I just got carried away with my opinion. However, I do think it would be more beneficial to you, and this site(not to mention the hobby in general) if you were to host card shows throughout the country instead of trying to pull off the 'next big thing' right off the bat.

I'm sure there are lots of reputable, and reliable members here that would work in conjunction with you(FCB) to promote local shows. I mean how cool would that be? an FBC promoted show, coming 'NEAR YOU'!! You could set the standard for what makes a great show, and gain market share, popularity, and notariety throughout the country! But I digress...

Is your idea cool? Sure!

Would I do things that way? Probablly not.

Having said this, good luck with your venture and I hope you have much sucess!

I'm sure I could make the 15 mile trek from Forsyth County!

Also, I would help out any way I could (assuming it was needed).
