What I find interesting is the fact that a person is a "fool" if they don't accept "xx" amount of money for a card, but the person who is offering the large amount of money for said card gets a pass.

Think about it. If a person doesn't need the money, why should he/she sell? Why isn't anyone preaching to the potential buyer about donating to charity, etc. instead of valuing a baseball card more?

Hello.....it is not the buyer walking around preaching their card is not for sale at any price. People act all high and mighty on a message board but in real life they would cave in seconds and run off with the money.

The discussion is taking place to call someone's bluff their cards are not for sale....because in the real world, everyone has their price. I have plenty of money in the bank and I'm very fond of some of my cards but for the right price...poof, they are gone.

I wasn't trying to come across as "high and mighty"...I apologize if that's the way you took it. Like I said though, I just find it interesting that one person's (buyer) money and/or desire for a card is often viewed differently than another person's (owner). That's all.

BTW, I wasn't trying to imply that I'd turn down an offer either. I'd certainly sell if the price was right.

There is always a price for a baseball card....just some prices would need be pretty high for me to let go of, but I would easily say that i would sell any card in my collection for a million dollars.

I would never sell the cards I am thinking of. They have no value to anyone else, they are full of memories though. Like the card my dad bought me after my first little league game. Stuff like that.

If someone offers me ten million dollars for my cards I'll think something's fishy and I'd run from that offer

I would sell the cards and my deceased father and I worked on together for the right price. He would expect me to sell for the right price. Obviously no one wants to pay anything for what we worked on but still, he'd be up for it. I have the memories and I rarely look at the cards anymore.
