So now everyone thinks Puig is arrogant and immature? Ridiculous.

I saw him play @ Coors Field a couple of weeks ago - he reminded me big time of Albert Belle. That said his talent sure seems amazing, and he's a freaking giant body wise for his age. When he failed at anything he seemed to almost pout - and the pouting body language from a big man is a 1000x easier to see than from any other player.

That's a pretty good comp.

Sports always needs a bad guy. Puig should take the roll and run with it.

I don't think we should judge young baseball players according to their character because they're so young and have spent such little time developing individually as adults independently from their families. Puig seems like a great baseball talent so let him play baseball and show us what he can do on the field. It's not wise to judge someone for getting upset when he has a 95 mile an hour fastball thrown at his nose. Plus these guys are so competitive and working out all the time and physically probably exhausted which makes it easy to be set on edge at times. I say let the guy play baseball and don't worry about his character right now. Ted Williams never spoke to the media at all and people loved him for what he could do as a baseball player, so why should it be any different today? Babe Ruth was an alcoholic and a womanizer and he's regarded as perhaps one of the greatest American heroes in sports. I say "Go Puig, let's see what you got!"

Completely agree with this. Seems to escape some sometimes

Everyone is on Harper's jock last year - only difference is Harper pretty much toned down the douchiness once he got to the big leagues - harder for Puig since he's only been in the country for a year and now people reading stupid things like Puig supposedly being an unsavory individual [not acknowleging some fuddy duddy former MLB player like Luis Gonzalez] will think the worst everytime they see or hear about him.

As Emalo wrote, it's mostly a language/culture thing. He grew up in Cuba under completely different circumstances than us.
Puig speaks no English and isn't comfortable yet with the American media.
He's also an extremely confident player, and it comes off as being arrogant. Even if he is arrogant, who cares? He's awesome to watch and good for the game.
He pouts sometimes after getting out, but it's because he's passionate and expects to get a hit every time.
He's only 22 years old. Most people are immature at that age, so give him a break.
