how long do you think the doors will stay open? Will it have an impact on your buying habits of their previous issues (any sport)?

This time next year I honestly don't think we'll be seeing too much in the way of unopened product from Upper Deck. They'll probably continue their collectibles line for a while until the QVC/backdoor blowouts occur, but I really don't see too much coming out from them after 365 days from now.

So does that mean I need to get replacements for any outstanding redemptions?

I have all of the 2008 SPA redemptions outstanding.

May not be a bad idea... I just had a missing hit from an 09 SPA box replaced with an 08.

Welcome to pretty much every UD basketball product ever released.

If people thought they got a kick in the junk from buying UD football...that was nothing compared to Basketball.
Of every company and every sport I think UD basketball had to provide the worst average return - yet they were considered #1 in the sport. All they had to do was pump the sell-sheet with their exclusives (Lebron and Jordan) and they'd sell a ton. Then you'd buy a box and want to kill someone because Hilton Armstrong is an auto in the set - not as a rookie but as a 3rd year player averaging 2.0 ppg. Sorry I'll shut up now lol If any of you also collect basketball you know what I mean.....with UD it really did feel like gambaling.

At least Greats of the Game doesn't have a high MSRP.....though it probably would have been better with more than 2 auto's - from what I've seen so far you're probably better off buying an older box of Press Pass Legends.

Gotta agree with you on this. On the one hand they do have the best quality cards that none of the other manufacturers do but the value therein is lacking, other than their Exquisite product. Way too many times I've gotten burned buying their boxes and other than the time I pulled a Kobe auto I can't remember ever pulling anything half-way decent. I haven't tried any of the Panini basketball products yet but hopefully they can give better value with their boxes. So what does this leave UD with, just hockey? This isn't good as Topps, I'm assuming that they are the only FB producers at this point, will be the sole manufacturer. And as far as football they don't have any standout products. I just remembered that Panini still does football so they may be the only decent one's left.

^ Although I didn't say it in my post - I also agree with you. They did make quality cards.

I guess in some ways it's my own fault. If you let others waste their money opening boxes and cases and just pick up the singles you like.....then UD products are great. I know others give that advice all the time on here, but for whatever reason I like opening boxes.....which to be fair is usually a loss no matter what manufacturer. Though from my experiences UD did tend to leave me disappointed more often than others - it really was boom or bust, opening worthless packs to get to the 1 or 2 hits that make the entire break.
