I think this is great info to send back to ebay/Paypal. Kind of proves something fishy is going on.

I got scammed out of Amazon gift card I sold by some guy doing the exact same thing. There wasn't really much I could do about it so I just took the hit. I always wondered why gift cards sold so close to face value, sometimes over face value on ebay. I now know why.

Did you try calling Bestbuy CS? See if you can go up the ladder to see who used the code. They might not tell you the name..but if you know his name..try asking if thats it..ect.
Then go back to paypal / ebay w/ that info..ect

I've sold a decent amount of gift cards from Gamestop and Best Buy and I have never run into a problem. It surprises me that I haven't, though. Most of them have run between $50 and $150 dollars worth, which would seem like worthwhile totals for scammers.

...all kidding aside, it sucks that has to happen to you and they wont do anything to help, even though they have the ability to.

They will defend the buyer until the very end and ultimately it will hurt them.

So a couple days ago I added in 125 dollars from my debit card to get back to zero, because I had to mail out some cards I sold on ebay and I needed to be able to print out shipping labels. So today I check my account and I see that I have +149.41 in it! The claim is gone! I WON! ​

I sell gift cards on eBay at my part time job. We email codes all the time. I keep the card until there is a 0 balance on it, then pitch it. If you call Best Buy they can tell you who used the card. If you have it in your possession and someone else used it that constitutes theft. Could also be wire fraud.
