So I had a crap ton of inserts from 2011 topps, all three series. I put a lot together that had 384 different cards. I sold it for 25 dollars plus 5 dollars shipping. This was at the beggining of December.
At the time, my girlfriend and I were moving and I forgot all about shipping the cards out until the buyer sent me a message. He was understanding and told me that he was leaving town for the holidays and to hold them until after the first of the year and then ship them so they wouldn't sit in his mailbox. I agreed and told him that I would put some extras in the box because I screwed up. I added more inserts that weren't listed in the auction and a Bryce Harper value box refractor. I thought that was pretty good.
On the third I sent them out with a DC and then on the fourth he opened a case on me seeking a full refund. He told me that he opened the case simply to cover his bases in case he didn't get the cards. I told him that I understood, let him know that I shipped them, provided the DC number and that was that. He said he would close the case when the cards arrived.
USPS says that they arrived on the sixth and he's telling me that he doesn't have them and is now wanting a full refund. Meanwhile my paypal account is in a negative balance of 30 dollars because of this case.
I know that he's giving me the run around on the not having the cards. He's clearly not very intelligent. You should see how he writes. Instead of using the word "and" he uses "in".
Anyway, I told him that I wasn't refunding him and that my auction stated that there were no refunds. He has the cards and if he doesnt' want them then he should resell them. With the Harper, he'll make his money back and more.
So should I escalate this to ebay customer service? I have all of the correspondance between him and I that shows he wanted me to wait until after the first of the year to ship. I'm not sure what to do on this. I don't sell on ebay hardly ever.
Thanks for reading. Any advice is appreciated.
