From Beckett:

Honestly, you wouldn't believe some of the stories out there -- and some of the reasons why sticker autographs help save money and headaches for collectors. One of my favorites is the player who signed all his cards at the beach and tossed the cards in the towel as he signed. How were they sent back? he boxed it up (towel and all) to return them. Needless to say there were plenty of cards that went directly to the shredder

I might be mad if this had a shred of proof. Who/when/what is the OP from the other site talking about in that story?

I talked to a player that took his Bowman Chrome cards and signed them in a coffee shop while he was with friends. I wont say the players name, but the autos i have picked up of him have turned out great. I just think that some guys may never have collected and may not understand the card world in general. I spoke with this player and he referred to the chrome cards as the "shiny metal ones" and actually liked his tristar stuff much better.

Wasn't there a football player that paid his nephew or relative to sign for him?
