Some Recent Pickups (Bats, Throwbacks, and One of Ones)

I havn't had too much to buy lately as Zambrano hasn't been in too many sets, and I have had a hard time finding any cards, but I have had some pickups I like.
Just some random pickups

Bought 2 of the /5s thinking I didn't have one when I bought the 2nd copy :lol: I now have 183/233 of Zambrano autos and 163/178 non 1/1 autos. Also my 67th copy of the TT RC auto.

And my favorite card I have gotten; a super rare rookie era auto (signed some of his 2000 TTs with this auto) on his first ever card.

Game used 2006 jersey I now have game used pitching jerseys from every year of his career besides 2001 and 2004 (has only worn blue jerseys the majority of his career).

And my favorite pickups are from the Cubs-Red Sox series in Boston. Zambrano pitched as the Cubs won the only game of the series (5-21-11) in these "UBS" uniforms. I was at the game and these are already among my favorites.

Beautiful stuff, love the bats you were able to photo match the zambrano bats really well the starlin Castro bats are pretty well photomatched too but the zambrano is dead on...love all the stuff sick pickups enjoy.

Ya would be nice to see Zambrano pitch a few more games, but I think there's a good chance he may be gone by the end of spring training. Though I am really hoping they keep him until the trade deadline so they can build up his trade value.

Ya pitchers bats are much harder to find and with Zambrano actually being a good hitter I always like to pick them up.
Zambrano actually usually wears batting gloves, but he was pinch hitting and since he loves to hit, he most likely just ran out there without the batting gloves :lol:

I am not exactly sure why he pitched in only the alt blue for so many years, but the pitcher always picks the jerseys for the day's game, so I assume he just preferred it. From 03-06 and 08-09, he only wore the blue alt (the Cubs got rid of the them in 07 before bringing them back). In 2010, he was in the bullpen so he started pitching in all the jerseys again and since then has worn both the blue alt and the home pinstripes (not the road greys though).

Man, where do you get those jerseys and such? I've been looking for a Grady Sizemore game-used jersey forever and only ever found one in an old auction listing. I check MLB.com, the Indians site, GUU, Google, etc., and never find one for sale. I guess I don't network very well, but I know there has to be one out there for me.

Ya networking is important in a sense. I got the 06 jersey from someone in Venezuela who knew someone I had previously bought from. You may want to check out auctionreport.com as it lists most upcoming auctions as well as local charity auctions and fanfests.
