Been picking up Scherzers for a while, though I was more than safe with my $34 bid. This is the second of his cards I have seen go for way too much in the last week. Wish EBay wouldn't hide names so I know who I am up against.

what sucks is when you find items that were listed under buy it now, that were up on the bay for 5 minutes and you didnt even have a crack at them. Especially when its a item you would have loved to own.

I just like to see if its the same guy putting in the same huge bids. If I see him bid big on the other color plates, I'll know before I get my hopes up he'll probably be laying out the big bucks for this one too. If I see the same guys going for the various Bowman refractors, I'll know it's probably something I need to step back on and focus on a different project since I won't be able to outbid those guys.

If nothing else, curiousity.

I have 1 dude I bid against in my player-collection. I like knowing when he's up-to-bat, because he ALWAYS bids more than me, and I can give up. I also know that once he has a single copy, he won't be going after another, and I can win the second one MUCH cheaper. He also trades with me sometimes & it's nice to know what he has & doesn't have ...

My guess is it was actually a Topps/Set Collector.
