Went to the local money pit tonight for a tradenight and he had some of the new SP Authentic Hockey in stock.
Overall I think its an OK product. The base cards seem to lack a little bit of the design they have had in years past. Its OK as sometimes less is more.
The Holoview FX cards are freakin awesome! I love the look of them this year! The one downfall I saw was that they are easily scratched on the surface and they came out of the packs like that as well.
The autos this year aren't too bad. I did notice that you don't get as many FW autos this year as in years past. One FW auto per box seems like a handicap for set collectors. I do love the fact that the autos are still ON CARD.
The redemptions this year are *****. As many of you astute hockey chumps know, the redemption cards have a REALLY thin silver foil cover over them that allows you to read the code right through the unscratched portion of the sticker. Damn that sucks.
Anyway, here are some highlights of what I got tonight.
I did hit a Malkin Holoview, which is cool as I'm a Pens fan. WOO!
I also hit a Kyle Turris SOTT auto and these cards I must say, look great!
I hit a Derrick Brassard FW auto, and a redemption for a Steve Mason/Derrick Brassard dual SOTT auto
I did get a FW Patch auto of a Lightning rookie but it was Mihalik............wrong rookie. DAMNIT!
I have some other stuff but nothing stellar. I'll list more later. I will also try to get scans up later tonight.
