Hi, I'm going to be going to Florida to see some Spring Training teams. I will probably be there before the games start, hoping to get some autographs. Does anybody have any tips on when to go, which teams sign the most in FL, or anything else that would be helpful??? LMK! Thanks!

My tips for after my experiences the past 5 years in Florida:

1. Avoid SS games

Stars rarely travel and its very hit or miss

2. Save your money and graph when the team is away.

In the middle of schedule, the team cant take everybody because they are trying to make roster cuts. The last year the Indians were in Florida, I graphed the Indians that stayed behind: I got CC Sabathia, Grady Sizemore, and Cliff Lee on the pratice fields along with a ton of top prospects at the time.

3. Read the daily newspaper the day before and day of the game for the city the game is in

Beat writers will tell you how many innings a player is playing and when he will be leaving. 80% of your graph successes will be outside the stadium as the player is leaving. You will be surpised how many people miss players because the player was pulled after the 4th inning and went home afterwards. They will also tell you if any fanfest, BBQ, or store events with players will be going on.... Last year, I went the Nationals BBQ and I would have never known if I didn't read the newspaper. The year before that Rocco Baldelli, Scott Kazmir, and Fred McGriff were doing a 30 minute signing at Checkers in Tampa.

The Rays, Pirates, Braves, Astros, Twins, Orioles are the most easy stadiums to graph to me in ST. Tigers has to many restrictions and the Phillies complex is hard to graph. I avoid the Yankees and Red Sox accept when they are on the road at the Blue Jays and Pirates.

Get there very early and be prepared to wait around all day for the best results. Be sure to check the back fields for players working out and of course prospects.
