Very cool! I trying to figure out how to leverage what will likely be my biggest card purchase in a while too. Buying this would pretty much put me at 100% completion

Orange- Cool photo where did you buy it? The signature is beautiful on that, good stuff man.
Rookie- Can't you pay later with Bill Me Later and like make payments on it? I think over 100 you can right. Not sure if you want to do it but I think it is an option if you really want it.

PujolsCollector - I bought it today from Stan the Man, Inc., in Des Peres. That's his office where he you can get your items signed or just buy signed items. I decided, instead of paying ~$30 to get the photo and then paying for the signature, I would just buy one there that was already signed with the HOF inscription. Plus, this particular one is older, so it still has his nice, non-shaky signature. A bunch of the newer signed photos had much smaller, shakier signatures.

Can you go into their building? If so can you go to where stan is signing? I never knew they had an actual store front (if they do)

Yes. It is a small office building off of Des Peres Road... really close to the West County Mall if you know where that is. Stan comes in there to sign for a little bit about every day, I am told, but I did not see him today. I went in today for the first time and paid up front for a 16x20 and the employee brought out a huge selection of them and I got to pick the one I wanted.

I wouldn't call it a store... it's basically just a small office building with a TON of signed memorabilia. Prices are a little high, but most items come with some sort of authentication (mine didn't, but I don't care because I have no intention of ever selling it), and there is no shipping if you buy it there. I was completely content and aware of overpaying for the 16x20 because I know it is authentic.

Yeah, I may do that. I don't need all of them so I may buy it and part out the nicer stuff that I don't need. We'll see

We have always just sent items with my dads friend who owns a card shop on the illinois side over here. He goes once every 2 weeks but never really talks about it. He just tells some of the stories musial talks about. He said its hard to hear Stan talk because he does not speak loud and he only says something 1 time. Stan has lunch over there somewhere every single day that he signs.

Traded '70, '75, and '88 commons for it.I probably will only have 25 cards shipped, so the rest I probably wouldn't have anything done with them anyway.

Also traded for a '71 Cardinals player, but don't remember who he is.May also trade for a '86 Van Slyke too.

Anyone super concerned about Carpenter?

Have them come out with any details on it yet? Or just seeing someone about stiffness?

Neck issues always seem to be more serious (see Manning). But with the way Wainwright pitched today, I think it will all work out.
