Nec- Hold your jockies brother! Easy now. He does look like a flop right now, but I never said he was going to be a COMPLETE bust. I know if is spring training, but one has to wonder. 2 starts already for him, 4 ER I believe. He just doesn't look ready yet is all that I am saying.

Chris Johnson had another decent day: 1-4, 2 RBIs and 2Ks

Do you think he'll be the starting third baseman this year?

Allen

I definitely hope so but I'm still not sure if he'll "start" the year up with the club (though he might be called up quickly if our "scrubish" timeshare at 3b doesn't pan out in the first couple of weeks)...Needless to say I am rooting for him to continue his progression to being our starting 3-bagger (& hopefully a star in the league)! :D

If Carter doesn't make the team, it's insane!

But don't they already have plenty of first basemen??? He'd definitely be a great bat off the bench.

Allen

He can play some outfield, with Kotsay hurt they have a bench slot for him. Also Youk could play some third if Lowell has any issues and Carter at first. Kotsay's injury definitely opened a door for him.

But they signed Wilkerson and their bench currently look like this:
Wilkerson, Lowrie, Baldelli, Kottaras/Bard, leaving 7 spots for RP.

Gordon Beckham went 1 for 4 with a homer
Josh Hamilton went 2 for 3 with an RBI and is now batting .500 for spring training
