Ok, I bought an 8-pack of assorted colors. It says "Lumocolor permanent 0.6 mm F"

Are these the right ones for chrome cards? They seem a little too thin.

Also, do they make silver and gold permanent paint pens? I found Sharpies, but no Staedtlers

They will work but the signature is going to come out very thin. I have seen many people use the fine point I personally prefer the medium as I think it gives you the bolder autograph.

See if you can find a thicker version. Those sound really thin.

Ok. I'm gonna return these then. The ******* at Michaels said they didn't make a wider size

Where else can I find these? I've tried Office Max and Depot as well. Maybe Walmart?

I would check to see if you have any more crafts store in your area

I bought some of these the other day to get ip sigs. I too thought they might be too small, but when I tried them out on an old base card it seemed to be the same size card companies use.

I started screwing around with em and you're right. I thought they'd be like a ballpoint pen. They look much better

Only problem I'm seeing is beading. Any way to prevent this? Running my thumb over the card seems to work. The only problem is I'm mailing the card off, and it'll be a few weeks before it gets signed

Talc baby powder. Rub it all over the card, and then wipe it off.

It's kinda important you wipe it off, for obvious reasons.

How abrasive is talc? I don't want it scratching up the card

As a test, I brought both the fine and medium point Lumocolors to TwinsFest a couple years ago. Here is a side by side comparison on a Topps Heritage. The medium looks much better.

In most cases on cards and definitely on 8x10s, the medium looks better. However, there are definitely some players who sign in a manner that the fine looks better. For example, Matt Macri's auto looks better with a fine.

Looks the exact same in person. I didn't examine it to the bone, but I didn't see any scratches. It just soaks into the gloss and helps the sig stick.
