Good stuff. I was considering writing a blog about MMA collectibles since I have collected sports cards/mem since a kid as well as fought MMA. In the end, I just dont know if I could keep it up.

UD really dropped the ball last year by cancelling their MMA (NOT JUST UFC) release.
And as much as I love Topps, Round 1 was a stemming pile of **** IMO.
Stickers, poorly conditioned cards, redemptions all lead to a bad product and I think people are idiots for buying at the prices they are right now.

Personally, I LOVE the idea of MMA cards with all the popularity these days. Topps has a great leg up on the competition, but they also are making a product that doesn't fit the price point. You can't blame them though, because look at how well the ROund 1 sold, and continues to sell. Cases are up to $5K-7K, and some of those autos are absolutely selling like crazy.

I would expect round 2 to sell even higher and really push Topps to make more releases, beyond the basic set that is Round 1/2. They need to make a sterling set, or an exquisite type set. They could sell for some serious coin down the line.

While I am not a fan of the sticker autos, the Ultimate Gear autos are really well designed.

Thanks. They said that Huerta`s redemptions were going to be replaced with an equal or greater valued fighter, blah blah blah. I kind of expected that with all the crap that`s been going on with him and the UFC. Just don`t like not knowing who it will be. I was happy with El Matador because I am a fan.
