Travis Blackley's start tonight was the 100th game started by a rookie pitcher this season for the Oakland Athletics. The previous record for most rookie pitcher starts in a season for a playoff bound team was 69 by the 1952 Los Angeles Dodgers.

Hopefully, the A's five rookie starters can extend this improbable run a few more weeks! :-D
