Here is the breakdown

Four-year major league deal, $7.5 million bonus, $7.6 million in salaries (including pro-rated $400,000 salary for remainder of 2009), $15.1 million total guaranteed. Also various incentives based on big league award voting.

Boras & Strasburg=Owned

The market owns Boras...he no longer controls anything...in fact, all players should save their 10%

If he's from Asia or Latin countries we're all gushing how cheap this was for them. They got a steal. 50 million was a farce brought by people that need to sell ad space.

How many players does Boras have in his stable?

How many future professionals is he going to act as an adviser to?

Boras is doing just fine and Strasburg is officially a professional.

I know Boras is doing just fine. 10% of a lot is a lot. Do you really think Boras got Strasburg any more than any other agent could? That deal is pathetic...all things considered.

Not going to lie, a friend told me 100% that Stras would sign a month or so ago. His source for that news was Strasburg, and I still was doubtful. Glad to see him sign, and can't wait to see his debut.

So the catch is it's only for 4 years? Then he'll become a Yankee or Red Sox unless he sucks and would end up as a Met. What ever happened to the 6 years of MLB service rule?

Ok seriously this is insane to pay a young kid that kind of money.
He should have gone to japan and played there. Oh yeah and a year form now
he will have Tommy John surgery and never be the same. :D

So if he's signed a major league contract -- his image should be in every product to hit the market in the next few months...

Has it been announced yet where he'll start his pro career? High-A? Double-A?

Can't seem to find this info.

Um, what? All this means is that Strasburg is immediately placed on the 40-man roster. He still has to compile 6 years of service time before he's a free agent.
