Hey guys, I don't collect much Football and just wanted some veteran opinions on some of his 08 autos. His cards seem pretty cheap right now, even some of the nicer ones, do you think he's worth the risk to invest in?

I'm no price expert (or expert on anything really), but there don't seem to be NEARLY as many prospectors in Football as there are in baseball. I think the market is just a little steadier; that there isn't quite as much money to be made or lost.

As a WVU alum, I say buy anything you can get your hands on!

I agree with Groat. He isn't a bad buy at all I don't think but there doesn't seem to be much prospecting in football. Mostly just a few hot rookies ala Matt Ryan and Matt Forte each year. Then your normal sellers like AP, Brady, and the like.

I think his prices are high, only room to drop. Texans would be extremely lucky to make the playoffs and won't be coming close to a Super Bowl anytime soon, so there isn't anything on the horizon to raise them up another level.

Agreed. Add to that the fact that RB's have the shortest careers on any position, with a few exception players RB's are some of the poorest investments. Go back 10 years and the list of RB's who outsold their rookie/sophmore year pricing after year 3 or later is a very short list.

I think the one thing that works in his favor is that he is a break away threat and a big play guy. Hobby wise I think that makes a big difference. A Curtis Martin type runner, who may have better stats at the end of the day, but have little flash will attract less attention then the guy who is making Sportscenter top plays every week.

I do agree with others though and think any significant price increases will probably have to be aided with the Texans becoming a playoff team and contender....though I think they'll be a chance to turn some profit at some point regardless, due to his big play ability which could lead to a 200 yd. day or 4 td performance or something during the season that'll spike prices for the week.

I sold him as soon as I pulled him.

I just got rid of his exquisite dual logo 1/1 with charles, and my buddy sold it for $1400 BO.
