Really?Always thought Miller was kind of boring.He uses the same call every time someone hits into a double play.

The most frustrating thing about McCarver is that he does know a lot about baseball and often has great insights. If he was just a clown who spouted nonsense non-stop it'd be one thing, and easy to dismiss. But he does come across with some great info, IMHO, about what's really going on in players' minds from pitch to pitch, and the likelihood of things happening that actually do happen. But in-between those gems there are some just ridiculous statements, like he's super-aware of dead air and while his PBP partner is taking a drink or something, he cannot let more than 3 seconds go by without talking, and usually the result is something completely inane, misstated, or wrong. So yeah, I could turn the sound down or put on the SAP channel or hook up my Sirius radio or any number of things, but I can't stop myself from listening to him, hating him, and hating myself. And then registering my complaints on the internet.

You make a good point. It's like he broadcasts radio. Dead air in TV isn't necessarily bad.

Oops, missed the sarcasm.

Miller - "(Insert middle infielder) fields the ground ball up the middle, steps on 2nd, throws to first.Two, a double play!"

He uses the "Two, a double play!" call every time someone would hit into one.

Fair enough, but at least he has the guts to have an opinion.

For all the McCarver griping, I like how last night he said Berkman was playing too deep with Andrus at the plate, and sure enough on the next pitch Andrus hits a shallow popup to RF.Accurately called.

I think he has a great voice (as well as Joe Buck) for calling baseball games, and both are very knowledgeable, it's what they say that bothers most people.

I purposely go out of my way to tune in the MLB International feed on the Mexican satellite instead of watching FOX off-air just so I can enjoy a Tim McCarver-free broadcast. Stucliffe has been beating McCarver hands down! I should go watch the FOX archives for Game 2 9th inning and see how McCarver babbled about things compared to Sutcliffe's excellent analysis!

MLB International even chose a non-scoring play as the play of the game because it was so key to the Rangers victory!
