Best of all, he was still hitting 99 on the gun in the 5th.

I doubt it. At the very least they'll keep him in the minors for the first month.

Great outing. JP, not sure if you had seen this yet - Aaron Fitt sent me the link actually (I guess I need to check YouTube more for AFL content ). As Aaron said, note the breaking stuff as much as the FB - impressive stuff against a pretty decent (understatement) hitter.

Since it's looking unlikely that Strasburg will have a Chrome card anytime soon, I'd like to call upon the artists on this board to create your best Bowman Chrome Autograph card of him and show it off here.

He began rising after his freshman year, capped by 1 appearance with Team USA in an exhibition in the summer. I'm pretty sure he was on the Cape prior to the USA appearance that summer, I may be wrong about that though. Start of sophmore year is when the hype really started generating momentum, especially after his 23K performance early in the year that really put him on the map. His performance with Team USA in the summer of 2008 further helped. He lived up to expectations his junior year, further strengthening the hype train.

He was out of shape and lost about 20 pounds. Also increased his velocity by about 10 mph
