I swear, people will abuse any system to make a buck. What a world we live in.

I don't sell cards, I collect. So I'm sure your comment isn't directed at me.

It doesn't matter what you do with them, as I replied in the PM. Topps put the system in so that the same people wouldn't get all the cards and that ideally, 1,500+ people would get a shot at these cards. When you create multiple accounts, you're abusing the system as it was intended to work. I don't care if you sell them, burn them, or eat them.... it still goes against the nature of the random draw that Topps does to avoid this very problem.

If Topps really had a problem with it, they could EASILY deactivate my accounts. Wouldn't be that hard. I know a small amount about databases and I think I could figure out how to query their customer database to see who had multiple accounts.

Your post insinuates I have multiples to make a buck. Not true. There are certain cards I want multiple copies of, Starsburg being one. If you could see my eTopps history over the years, my multiple card purchases, heck even single card purchases, have RARELY even come close to making me a buck (had I sold them).

Just like Topps could stop pack searching if they were really dedicated to the idea, but that doesn't make it any less deplorable because it could easily be prevented. That is like defending robbery because the person was dumb enough to leave their front door unlocked so they deserved it. Lack of prevention does not equal consent. Ultimately, it's an honor system kind of thing and people can't even leave well enough alone to allow that to work which is more of a statement against the state of humanity than anything else.

I couldn't care less if you made any money or lost money on these cards. That is of no concern to me. That does not mean that the cards you were seeking this time do not have monetary value. You used a false means to obtain a highly regarded asset that could potentially be turned into money upon your choosing by intentionally deceiving Topps into thinking you were multiple people. That is wrong on whatever level you wish to defend it.

You shouild read the eTopps T&Cs sometime. The ONLY mention of multiple portfolios is in section 4 as follows:

"Users with multiple ports will be treated as one household."

That kind of sounds as if Topps acknowledges the existence of multiple portfolio holders, huh? No mention of it being "illegal". You should go take a nap, Oscar.

It just sucks being at a disadvantage of getting high end eTopps cards without trying to "play the game", and use false information to create more than my share of profiles in hopes that one of them "hit" for me.

Topps tries to distribute these fairly, but it's impossible when people are intentionally deceptive. There isn't a lot they can do about that without going through and having you verify your address like paypal does, which would cut into their business significantly.

People need to learn the difference between immoral and illegal, because there certainly is a difference. I never claimed illegality.

Without really taking sides on this argument here, you have to understand that allocation isn't random. It's not like everybody gets their name put in a hat and 1900 people have their name pulled out and they get a card. It's first come, first served. If you show up at 1 PM on Mondays and order your etopps I can pretty much guarantee that you'll get one of each card you want.

True, but if you're quick you can probably get about 15 of the card you want. You know? I do recognize your point and appreciate the viewpoint, but to me it does deteriorate the system to flood Topps with requests made by the same person under false pretenses. I know it's far too idealistic, but I just wish people would follow directions without having to be told what is right to do.

I've never purchased etopps before but this year I decided to buy a few. So far I have the following in my portfolio.

Austin Jackson
Heyward
Strasburg

Strasburg MILB

I actually haven't received a confirmation email that I was allocated a Strasburg but it is showing up in my portfolio so I'm thinking I got one. Got shut out on Posey and Stanton. I don't sit online on Monday at 10am though waiting for them to go live.

1-1 as predicted.
Didn't waste trying for more, common sense told me it was useless.

First couple on the bay are already over $50 ;)
There is a ton listed right now, so I'll probably wait.

Unless someone is looking to buy one. :D :D

If you have 2 accounts, how do you transfer one over to the other account?

It's been awhile since I've done it since I usually just take shipment, but I also used to sell them to myself in private eBay auctions for .01. I don't know if you can still do that.

I didn't order until 3:00 last Monday but put in for 30... I got 1 which is fine. I figured the more I ordered the better chance.

Top one is at $76 with 7 hours left.
HOT HOT.
I had to list mine.
Started at $60... I hope it entices some bids with how they are starting out.

Better than mine at $20. I have no doubt that they will all eventually hit at least $40-50. In which case it would suck not to get max profit, but it's still nice seeing as they were only $8 :)
