He gave up a HR tonight. Here's his final line:

8 IP, 3 H, 2 R/ER, 14 K, 1 BB

I'll be happy if any of my pitching prospects pitch a game that good all year.

Uh oh! Sell sell sell!!
Ironically, that's still a damn good line. 14 K's is still nasty, and with only 3 hits, he basically got punished for one mistake.

giving up 2 ER in 8 IP is getting punished? Kind of a strict definition :D

I'm sure you can find it somewhere online....with as much hype as he's receiving you can probably find out what he had for lunch & what time he ate it (heck, probably can find out how many tissue's he used to wipe his arse with this morning if you look long enough)!

I've been burned too many times by fireballers who blow out their arms.
I just won't risk investing in pitchers anymore.
But Strasburg seems like an incredible talent and he has a big, durable frame.
Let's hope he doesn't turn out like Mark Prior.

Even though the love has gotten a little over the top, I am rooting for him. I like his story, which for me, is a little inspirational.

26-year-old Cardinals reliever, Jason Motte.

Yup. He's had a very nice spring training. Looks like he might get the closing role. He's got a good story. Polar opposite of Rick Ankiel.

So this post was serious? That line is freaking awesome.

I guess I should have identified the tone, I am in just as much awe as the next guy.

It's definitely the ultimate gamble. Usually the guy blows out his arm or he becomes a super star.
