I agree it does appear the auction is getting schilled. I would jut bid the amonut you want to pay for the card and do not look back.

if you get outbid, at least you did not over pay. If you are offered a second chance i would not accept it.

Well I am watching the bags and what do you know...the highest bidder so far is a 0 feedback buyer.Gee...what a coinkidink!I am debating on whether or not to throw a bid in at all.He tries to defend himself in the 90's thread and all he can say is he is not shilling.Maybe he isn't.But in my experience...its up to me to decide and if I feel it is being shilled...he looses out.

Notice the bidder in question.

He only bid on the Leaps, not all of the sellers cards.

Other cards being sold by the seller have multiple bids by people with tons of feedback. Multiple bids do not equal shill.

Remember, all ebay buyer must start at zero and we all started some place.

Just so everyone knows ebay has really stepped up buyer protection in regard to shilling. They tag addresses and cross them from bidder to seller. They also track IP addresses between seller/bidder. People who start out on ebay are often like posters on message boards, they start out with a flurry and look silly, and possibly in this case they make the seller look bad.

I hope this is not a case of shilling but if it is the seller will be suspended by Friday on ebay.

While you have a valid point, it seems odd that this bidder's activity is 100% with this seller. He hasn't bid on anything else.

I am not disputing that. All I am saying is there are lots of variables. He only has bids with the seller on one insert type, there are no other Quantum Leaps listed for the bidder to bid on.

I can't stand shill bids. I've been getting the feeling some people are doing it on the Buchholz stuff i've been buying lately

A shill bid can be placed at any time. I don't think a snipe program stops anything, you would still pay more due to a shill bid.

Most people don't understand this logic, but I 100% agree.

Yeah...in this day and age, people basically use the 2nd chance offer when they shill.

So with these ended do the pitchforkers still stand by earlier statements? Just curious, especially after seeing the extremely low "shill" on the couple cards most figured would hit triple digits
