I believe that prices went down so much when he was injured that they almost "have to" bounce back somewhat, and I think 500 homers will shine some light on how great a player he has been. A lot will depend on whether he returns to being a great player, but I think over the offseason they were just "too cheap."

I have to hope I'm right because I've put a lot into that line of reasoning lol. This thread shows a part of what I mean:

I would think he would need to play at a MVP level for them to increase.I just don't see him playing at that level anymore, and he's going to be overshadowed by Trout for years to come.

Time will tell I guess, but some of the cards are selling for around 20%-25% of their peak and he's still one of the top 5-10 hitters in baseball history. I've already seen prices go up on some in the last couple of months. I've been wrong before and may be wrong again but I think it's fairly low risk since he's a first ballot HOFer already...
