CIS sensors do not scan depth at all, which is why slabs will be blurry when scanned with them.
I don't know what a cis sensor is but thanks! I will check online when I get off work tonight.

The reason the g3110 is so often recommended is because it has a CCD scanning element, which allows for depth and clarity when scanning graded cards or cards in one touch holders.
It also has a cathode ray tube light which distributes light evenly and avoids the streaks caused by the newer scanners that have the individual LED lights.

Well I had a nice, 2 hour nap. Instead of hitting snooze, I shut the alarm off and fell back asleep
