Through the mid 80s into the early 90s most of the SBs were NFC Blow-outs, I'm sure some backup QBs made it into those...

Nope, they got real lucky with the Weather and they know it!

Heck, they missed 6-8" of snow by only about 12 hours. Getting out of town will be a mess tomorrow.

The NYC hotels didn't do that well 'cuz people were worried about the weather. And the trains still had trouble running on time, even though that wasn't weather-related.

People forget this NYC thing was Taglibue's (sp?) post 9/11 Dream and got done. Plus, they thought the Jets would have a new Downtown stadium and a possible Olympic date upcoming...

Not the same circumstances as we were talking about... The Giants didn't pull Simms in a blow out and stick Hostetler in there for garbage time

Like someone else said, there were so many NFC blowouts in the '80s and '90s I'm sure backup QB's came into the game at one point.I'd be shocked if Young didn't replace Montana when 49ers bombed Broncos.

You're right, they did get lucky.I still like letting the game be played in more cities than the same old ones year after year.I hear all the time fans love snow, wind, and rain, and all of a sudden people are griping a Super Bowl is played in NJ in the winter. Can't have it both ways.

I just hate how the average fan can't even attend anymore.Heard someone on radio say they wouldn't be surprised if Super Bowl is on PPV down the road.I wouldn't be surprised either.

Yeah, the first part about the "average" fan can't get in is dead on, but there is no way they go PPV for the Super Bowl.

Now I'll admit I thought they'd go to PPV for individual games, but only as an option for out-of-market fans not to replace the networks. The "League Pass" is kinda like it. Now maybe a different feed might go PPV but not the whole broadcast. There is just NO way the broadcast partners give up the SB.

Most of the league's insane revenue comes from those networks and sponsors who rely on the broadcasts to make their huge investments worthwhile. Heck, the SB is rotated thru all the networks every 3 years and still makes it worth it for them. SB commercial prices have doubled every 6 years or so...

I hope you are right, but the way the league is trending every year I trust Goodell less and less.Hell, he even wants a team in London.Imagine the travel nightmares with that.I don't see why sponsors still couldn't advertise on PPV.Hope it never comes to that though. Then again, look how sad it is all the BCS and New Year's college football games have hauled ass to ESPN now.And many NCAA Tournament games are now on TBS, TNT, and Tru.Thought I heard Final Four games will now be on TNT, or something like that.Hope I'm wrong though.

The way cable has gone through the roof I have decided to get rid of it, at least for now.

Should be a great game!

For "entertainment" purposes, I would like 23-21 Seabags...

Enjoy it and GL with your picks!

Age, it should've been a great game. Having Denver just fold like that after five points with no fight in them was weird.

It was like watching a bad high school football game where one team was talented and wanted to win, and the other team was talented and expected to just show up and win.

Just a complete mismatch, especially Denver's ol versus Seattle's dl. The Denver offensive tackles well probably see guys getting drafted at their positions in a few months. Hard to believe but they completely shat the bed the one time they couldn't afford to.
