super bowl cards - SCORE

Picked up some golds on eBAY -
anyone been collecting some of the rare ones?

I've been tempted to get the some of these of the guys I collect, but I don't know much about them. Does the color of the Super Bowl versions have anything to do with how rare each is?

According to Beckett, yes.

"The most common version of the set features Red borders, while the scarcity of the other colored parallels follows in this order, from easiest to toughest: Blue, Gold, Green, Glossy, Black."

I've got the Red, Blue, Gold and Glossy (lighter blue) Portis cards for my PC, but I have yet to see any green or black cards. The glossy ones are numbered out of 250, so if that list is correct you'd at least expect to see some green ones floating around on ebay. As I was writing this post, I did a quick google search for the black ones, as I haven't seen them either. Somebody is selling them on Amazon of all places, and the prices are halfway decent. Still haven't found a green one though.

I'm sure you're correct, but the people who are breaking them up and selling them are probably making some halfway decent cash. I know the regular score set was 440 cards and I believe the super bowl sets were the same. Glossy sets were $100 and regulars were $40, if I remember correctly. Even at a buck per card, which is less than I've been paying, you're banking.
