Why am I obligated to put effort into this? I thought this thread was intended to be a b*tch list or a wish list?

You said "...maybe a forum for people like us that want to talk about ACTUAL baseball performances, accomplishments, history, pennant races, venting about our teams, GM and Manager decisions, fight for jobs, trivia, classic cards, classic moments..."

Well, do it. You are free to discuss what you want to discuss on the baseball board. Why do you need your own forum to discuss things you can discuss on the baseball board, is my point.

I just talked to Paul Blackburn and he may be joining this site. He's not a big name MLB player yet but a player nonetheless

Nice. I know at least a few questions I could ask him.

He may check it out as a lurker first. Hopefully he joins though. I told him all about the board and how it works so we'll see

I'm sorry, but is it really that hard to type the image code?

Code:

Try it, it's not that hard.

I wish we could lose the ladies with thin skin who think when more than one person disagrees with them its now national bully day not that maybe they could be wrong.

I feel like trolling and negativity should be probational and ban-able. We don't need to wait until someone is a proven scammer to realize they're a cancer to our site.

I'd recommend stricter rules and stronger enforcement, so we can keep the boards a positive place for everyone.

And one minor thing. The "Who's online" list always randomly pops up, presumably when someone signs in or navigates to the site. It occasionally gets in the way and is kind of annoying.

Fake edit: I just went to hit "Post Reply" and it blocked me from the button

I think he mis-read your quote; I was scratching my head too after reading his reply.

Here's the thing about FCB, if I want to have a thoughtful, knowledgeable conversation about baseball, or sports cards, vintage or prospect, I come here; for everything else I go to blowout. The sad fact of the matter is, ever since we went to the new website, the traffic has crashed and people seem to have this mindset that if there isn't anything that they like on this website, why should they post here. I myself really like the new layout of the website and I would take it over the old one every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. oOn the other hand, I am a little bit more computer literate than it seems like the majority of the people here are (especially the ones who left). I'm not on this website on a tablet, my phone or anything like that, I'm only on my computer so I cannot comment to whether or not it works good there. I guarantee the majority of the problems could be fixed with more content and more people posting, but the sad fact of the matter is this new website is complicated and people don't want to take time to learn how to use it properly so they just left for the much easier to use blowout.

When things went South with Beckett, collectors sought other forums. No different than here.

A lot of technical issues reduced the number of users, users that have found other forums, etc.

There are dicks on every site, thieves on every site...but without users, there isn't content. And without content...it's tough to grab new users.

Agreed, hell there are a much higher percentage of douches on other sites and they are not suffering. I think you hit the nail on the head, content.

The super sweet 90s thread is the reason I came here and most of the reason I stay. Those are the kind of threads that help the community and encourage participation. Morning threads, though I'm not active in them, are cool too. And threads that talk about current events in baseball or even prospects are great.

Pissing matches, call out threads, and private investigator threads are what turns me off to FCB.

The thing I don't care for about the site is that it is known for two things prospectors and Razor/Leaf. Two things many collectors either dislike our don't give a rats ass about. It turns away potential new members. Instead of solely using this site, it is now a brief stop in my rotation of sites I visit.
