as has been mentioned, as long as you get your BGS 9.5s without any 9 subs, you're golden!

Whole top row is more desirable in PSA format. Last time I checked.

agreed. when i was buying them (in 2012 i think it was) they were not readily available in PSA 10 form.
Would not be difficult to cross them over if i chose to do so.

Why would you want modern base cards graded? They're not worth the price of the grading fees!

Every time I don't think it's possible for you to say anything dumber, you manage to outdo yourself.

Sorry but count me in the camp of thinking it's a waste of money (that you could be spending on other cards) to grade non-RC base cards.

I prefer PSA and have begun converting my BGS Vladimir Guerrero rookies to PSA slabs. Some of them have been brutal. I had a BGS 9.5 Bowman's Best rookie come back a PSA 8 this week! That one hurt. The 9.5 was an old-label as well (I liked those labels a lot!) so I figured it'd be a 9 at worst. No dice though.

I do love SP Jeter rookies in old-label silver slabs though. Silver on top of silver with the subs on the back looks great.

So umm, short answer--I prefer PSA for everything, even modern. I am not a fan of BGS holders or their labels. Way too cluttered. The card should be about the card, not BGS label kind of trumps your eye-flow.

I hate graded cards and would never ever go after Belle graded cards unless I have too... literally I think I have two graded cards and both are 1/1s which I acquired already graded and I can't seem to figure out a good way to crack them out. Either way, I like BGS 1000x more than PSA.

BGS for anything post '94.

But mostly 'cuz of the sub-grades and the shiny Headers! :D

And the occasional 10 wouldn't be bad either...

I don't grade my PC cards (or ever plan to) but I prefer PSA for just about everything. Call me old fashioned.

I much prefer the psa cases. I've had graded/slabbed authentic cards come in both and the sheer size of a bgs case was a pain to deal with.
With that said, grading has its collectors, but anything not needing an auto authentication has been freed from its larger plastic cell
