To echo the comments from my email, I think this newsletter turned out really good. Maybe after some period of time, you might consider using a blog as a sort of article archive that you can continue to tweak, but the content and presentation worked well in this format, though for some reason Adobe really seems to hate images when embedded in PDFs. I see the same problem at work when I print to PDF, and my images lose a lot of their quality.

On to the articles...

For the 1978 Sports Photo Association 3" pins, I have seen a couple of Pete Rose pins from this series numbered as 344 (Expos) and 363 (Reds), though neither had signatures, so that puts them as being released at least up to 1984. So far over at SCF, I have 120 identified in the checklist. Just have to remember to keep hitting eBay every month or so for more.

Also, check this blog posting that might explain those with signatures, but no numbers:

Hmm, not sure if that article explains it. The 1981 Fleer pictures were used for both the numbered and non-numbered examples. Did I miss something?

Very nice read, Tim. I wasn't aware of all the variations for the 87 Topps Stickers. I went on the hunt and found the two test versions I needed. I also realized I had the blue font version of the foil, so I'm now in the hunt for the black font version. I also added the two 87 Cunningham checklists to my hunt list as well. Thanks!

At least you have the easy one to find.

Thanks! I just printed it at work. Cant wait to put it next to the toilet with my Guitar World magazines for some "light" reading later...

Can you also email me a 3 hole punch and a report cover? ;)

Not sure how I should feel about you putting it next to your crapper.

I meant it explains at least one avenue the non-numbered pins were distributed, not so much their existence and life's purpose in the world.

Oh, I didn't mean to insult... Just a joke about how that's where I get uninterrupted reading done ;)

Yeah, that was interesting how they partnered with Fleer. I need to update the Newsletter with that info as well.

Re: Supercollector Newsletter

DaCyde provided a little informational tidbit about the 1987 Topps Hard Back stickers in an email to me. Apparently Topps had Panini print all of their stickers from 1981-87. When the contract was up in 1987, Topps decided to try and do it in house and the 1987 Topps Hard Back stickers was the result of the test which explains why they do not have "MADE IN ITALY" on the back. Thanks for the info.

That was an awesome read! I loved the cameo rating section. I'm a level 3 Cameo collector "Cameo Fetish"! Nice to see one of my cards as an example :) I'm gonna have to add that to my sig...

I also liked the supercollector spotlight. Drew's site inspired mine, to the point where he helped me with pointers and even introduced me to the program that it runs on. Thanks Drew!

I cant wait to read more. Here's to looking forward to the next issue! Thanks!!

I have some good stuff cooking for next issue. (Something very cool arrived today.)

I was checking out your cameos and I think we need a new cameo level for this one. :)

Huh, I may have to email it to my wife and read it on hers to see what it's like.
