Wait wait wait... that is either a good imitation or else I'm missing something.
I see 2 other members mentioned this so I'll be the 3rd... WHEN IN THE *$^*ù!: DID HE SIGN ON STICKERS?

I can see it:
1940: Topps announces the release of a BRAND NEW product never seen before. That's right, TOPPS STERLING. A new technology in the world of sportscards with players from today who will be deceased tomorrow.
Expected release date 2010. Yes that right folks, ony your grand children will be able to get these cards. Preorder today for $1. Your grandchildren will pay the difference upon realease.

Seriously, what in the world??????

You didn't see?

An antique dealer found autographed papers from Topps manufacturing, back before Topps Chewing Gum, when they were a meat manufacturer/packer. They signed Ruth on in the 30s to be a spokeman, and had him sign a ton of small papers as inserts in the hamburger packaging. The company apparently bailed on the promotion and the aforementioned antique dealer just found them. What a stroke of luck for Topps that the company had the same name, right? Topps transferred the papers to stickers, and has a new slew of Ruth autos for products now.

Proof? You need to be able to back up statements like that before you just go calling someone's card a fake. You may not know the whole story behind this card.
