Is there any way to switch your eBay account into someone else's name and keep all your feedback?

As far as I know, you can sell/give your account to someone else and they can change the name while keeping all the feedback, however it will show that a name change has occured.

If you sell the asccount to someone they keep the feedback assoicated to that account.
So is this what you are asking?

What would be the point of selling the account if you kept the feedback? I sold my account and just changed all the account info to generic info before handing it over. Subsequently the guy ran the account into the ground.

Buying and most certainly selling an Ebay account is beyond shady and borders on fraud.

I don't know Ebay s stance on the matter but what a scumbag thing to do

I somewhat agree...

When you buy a company/store/product label it is a matter of public knoledge for the most part and people can decide if they wish to buy from them based on the new information/owner. But when you sell an eBay account there is nary a hint that it is NOT the same seller that has amassed prior feedback/reputation. I do not think I find it as appauling as you, but do see the 'shady-ness' of it...

If ebay finds out you sold the account..they will freeze it and go after the new one you create. I know 1st hand about this.
but then again..Ive done this many times also w/ no issues.

I was thinking of giving my active account to a close friend who wants to start selling on eBay. How is that a scumbag thing to do?

Yes was thinking of giving my account to a friend but didn't know if it would wipe out all my feedback if he changed it all over to his info

Because your friend did not earn that feedback and dsrs. And untimely the buyers trust. I never buy a higher end anything from a new seller and you are masking the fact that your friend has not earned the publics trust.

Your friend can either earn his own reputation or buy yours. Seems like a person with character would choose the former. No offense

A lot of interesting comments here... First, people would sell it to make money, that's "why" someone would sell their account. Pretty simple.

Honestly, do you guys seriously read all feedback for all sellers of items you want? Sorry but I look at percentage positive and keep moving... I don't know about you guys, maybe I'm the minority, but I leave simple positive or negative feedback myself, don't make super specific per transaction. Maybe just me.

Only reason I'd read feedback is if I was buying a large ticket item, so again, maybe I'm in the minority.

Also, how many accounts does eBay have? A zillion? I'm sure selling accounts happens all the time.

Last, just for the record, I've been asked to sell my account and I've said no. I won't personally do it but it isn't because I'm scared of fraud or eBay finding out.

So what you're saying is that buying another company's name and reputation and goodwill is shady, huh?

#leaf

You have serious problems.

Good grief, as an attorney surely you can understand shelf corporations, etc.

But nope, not the comical petty child you have become.

Actually, at this point, I post solely to see how long it will take you to follow up with an insulting follow up post. . . which is odd - you follow my every post, yet I don't know a darn thing about you.

5 minutes.

Impressive. Truly, impressive. Bravo, good sir (or ma'am, I really don't know).

Buying a historical name like "LEAF" (BG), "FLEER" (UD), "DONRUSS" (Panini), and others happens all the time or companies wouldn't do it..

Jeff, you take a stab at Brian in any thread where you can.. It's petty and makes you look like even more than an ass you already are..

and I'm pretty sure you know who Mike is..

as for switching accounts, there have been previous threads on FCB about it..

People have been buying and selling eBay accounts since the early days. Nothing new at all.
