Was having the debate in my head and am not sure who I would want.

Here is the Q:

You are the GM of a franchise with out a long term solution at the hot corner. You have your pick between Josh Vitters and Matt Dominguez. Who do you take?

At first I thought for sure Vitters but if Dominguez can swing the bat like he did last year AND keep his great defense up he might be the better choice...

What do you think...?

Dominguez started last year with Mono (he kissed Moosetacos) and still mashed. They are both young so its really a toss up but I say dominguez

Does Dominguez's Home/Away split not worry anyone else?

Not really as he is very young if his home and away splits stay similar for the next several years then ill worry but he is still a long ways from the majors.

I would use that logic if he was a little worse on the road but, he was just pathetic away last year..for those who dont know...

Normally I wouldn't worry too much about a poor split due to his age but as Dchurg points out, it is a very large discrepancy between them. Enough, that when combined with park factors (both average league and home), I am somewhat concerned. This is why I brought this up, I wonder if the split isn't due to more than just his age. I can't buy that his health issues played a large part in this as when you look at the time splits, the away numbers don't seem to fluctuate in correlation with that.

This year will tell me a lot about Dominguez but for now, I'm staying away. As of right now, I'd go with Vitters. I could be way off on this, it wouldn't be the first time and it won't be the last time if I am.

Vitters, but only slightly. Dominguez closed the gap a lot this year.

Those using Dominguez's illness don't forget Vitters was pretty banged up most of the season...
