While I don't care for them adding the FVF to the shipping cost, I do like that I can list up to 50 items with an auction price plus a BIN for free. It's allowing me to test the waters with some items I wouldn't typically list. And at least you don't get charged anything if it doesn't sell. Many times I wanted to list something with a BIN, but I hated paying the fees for it.

So is anyone else taking advantage of the free listings since they started today?

While the BIN being free is nice, there was already 100 free listings per month, that was MUCH more beneficial to me...

Ebay really is just taking and taking and taking...

I was curious about whether or not the 50 are part of the 100 or are they in addition to the 100. Any idea?

The fact that these 50 free auctions can start at ANY price is probably the best part, in addition to the free BIN.

I only had access to 100 free listings at .99, not any price. Now its any price and a BIN

The 50 at any price with free BIN replaced the 100 free listings started under a buck. It's too late now, but for future reference, I'm pretty sure ebay lets you do both promotions so you could list 100 under a buck and your 50 this month. I agree that the any starting price is nice. I'm wondering how listings will be affected. I was sure that a lot of cheaper items were going to be listed when they went to 100 listings but I didn't really notice a big change there.

I am most certainly taking advantage of the 50 free listings. I prefer this over the 100 listings at .99

I guess that is good it is included in the auctions as well as BIN's don't always get a lot of exposure as I find that I usually have more watchers on live auctions opposed to BIN's.

So...basically...we lose out on 50 free listings?

Technically yes, but these changes will be so much more beneficial to the seller.

The 100 free listings with a starting bid of $.99 or less was neat, but not too useful unless you have a bunch of junk cards lying around where the only way you would attempt to sell them would be if you could list them for free. With that deal, you really only saved like $.15 per listing, so $0.15*100=$15.00

With the new special, while you can only list 50 items, you are able to list them at whatever starting price you want, and at whatever buy it now price you want. These will greatly benefit those sellers that do BIN/BO auctions in 2 ways. One, instead of paying $.50 to list your item BIN/BO, you don't pay anything. Two, rather than paying FVF's on a BIN/BO auction (which is what 9%?), you pay FVF's on an auction style listing. As a seller, with these new changes, my monthly fees accrued should end up being about half of what they are now. Theoretically, you could save more money selling 1 card with this new deal than you would if you sold 100 items in a month using the old deal due to the savings on FVF's.

If I had an item I wanted, say, $40, for, I can't list it as a $50 BIN/BO, can I? For Free? I would have to start the auction at $40, with a BIN at $50 to get the benefit, correct?

Yes. BIN/BO are not free, but auction styles with buy it now's are free, and you can set the price of the opening bid and the buy it now at whatever point you want. Just to verify, I tried to list an item with an opening bid of $249.99 w/ a buy it now of $349, and my total insertion fees was $0.00.

It could work out for sellers. Utilize your best offer that'd you'd take as your opening price, and there may be a bidding war.
