The following tales from Baseball card shows are TRUE, only names have been changed.

True story number one:

Woman walks by a dealer table and spots a 2003 Playoff Absolute game used Glass box topper display of Jason Giambi for sale. Her reaction was immediate, she HAD to have it. Her husband was called over, he liked it too.

"How much?" she asked the dealer to which the reply was "$40"
"Wow thats it?" she asked and after wiping the drool away, she went for her purse faster than Tiger runs from his wife.
Transaction complete......or so the dealer thought.

"Whats that?" she asks?
"Oh, its the velvet lined wood storage box which comes with the glass box topper to store it in" says the dealer.

"Can I see it" asked the customer and the dealer handed it to her.

"Oh, never mind, Im not going to buy the piece now because THERES A TINY SCRATCH ON THE BACK/ BOTTOM OF THE STORAGE BOX"

TRUE STORY NUMBER TWO:

Customer asks dealer how much for his showcase full of modern day player game used cards to which the dealer responds "$10 each but Ill work the price for you"

"Thats a little more than Im willing to pay anything cheaper?"

"Well I have these grab bags and inside each one is a GU card for $5 per" replies the dealer.

"Im not looking for GRAB BAG QUALITY players......how about cards in THAT showcase?" asks the customer.

"You mean this case, with Pujols, Alex Rodriguez, Ripken, Jeter, etc?"
"Its my buddies case, let me ask him....actually, before I do, how much would you like to pay for these" asks the dealer.

"ONE DOLLAR PER" replies the customer.

"Well, let me know where you buy Pujols and Jeter game used for a dollar, thansk for wasting my time" says the dealer.

I believe this happens much more often than people think. This includes my favorite line ever spoken to me at a card show.

"Well, how am I supposed to make money off it at that price."

I am sure you get the reference, but for those who may not, it is a quote Michelle made in American Pie.......something about band camp, a flute, and a cat......yeah, a cat.
