Lets say the Jaguars draft him and kick Garrard to the curb after 4 games, its not that hard to assume that Tebow could have a statline like this over the course of a 12 game schedule

TIm Tebow 125-263 950 Yards 8 TD 10INT 515 rushing yards 6 TD's

Thats not terrible your 1st season even considering the passing yardage mostly came from screens.

Some team is going to get rewarded for using him correctly.

I will eat my shoe if any of this becomes true. Reverend Tebow is a joke.

Why is he joke because he is a christian?

It is not that he is a Christian, it is how the media (ESPN and others) would talk about it all the time when he was at Florida. There are lots of players who openly express their faith, but do not get a second of ESPN for it like how he did.

Thats his fault lol. I just found it odd throwing the word Reverend in there was a jab at his faith. Faith/Weight/sexual orientation/baldness/wealth etc.. such easy targets

It was a jab at the fact that he is portrayed as such by an overzealous media, that he can do nothing wrong. And secondly because he needlessly expresses faith in place that faith should not be involved in. I dislike outward expressions of religion in sports, and he takes it to a whole new level. Therefore, he shall be referred to as Reverend Tebow.

How do you figure faith shouldn't be invloved in sports?

I for one, do not like religion being pushed in my face. Especially when it comes to my sports.

I can understand that...but at the same time it's not like he's knocking on your door at 7am on a saturday  I agree he kind of goes overboard with the whole religion thing but it's not his fault that the network keeps showing him.

I've never heard Tebow try to convert anyone during a press conference before or after a game. IMO he doesn't force it on anyone.

No he does not. Gellman just gets his views and that is it. What about when AP gets down on one knee in the endzone. How bout Chris Carter or Reggie white. Talk about outward religious expression. Totally misinformed.

Yea, I've never felt "thanking God" or being "blessed" were examples of pushing religion.

i don't understand what all this wildcat talk is about. its just a fad, and defenses WILL figure it out, not to mention not many teams run it successfully with the exception of miami. hair gel jesus (sorry if that offends you) is not an NFL qb right now, but the changes he made in only 6 weeks-ish is very impressive and speaks to his learning curve

hey wheeler...we should sell our Polamalu auto's since he intentionally puts 3 crosses in his autograph and he's clearly trying to force religion on us ::facepalm::

You're for it. I'm not. Bitchslap the **** out of yourself all you'd like, it's not going to change my opinion. I cringe everytime I hear an athlete talk about being "blessed" or the fighter who just KO'd his opponent and talk to Joe Rogan about "thanking god". Do you think that team who lost or the guy who is unconsious is "praising thy holy name"? Yeah..

i'm not for it or against it...they have every right to speak about their religion as you have to speak against it...you talking about it is actually just giving what they say more power wether or not it was there intention to spread "thy holy name" or not...anyhow...I wasn't trying to start crap with you...my frst post was directed toward Gellman

See underlined. How exactly is it "giving them power"?

I know who you are, and I know who you were directing your comment towards, and no I'm not defending Sir Gellman. Just chiming in.

I grew up Catholic, did the church thing every Sunday and know that whole mentality/culture very well. But then life happened. I grew up and didn't need the sugar coating that religion provides it's audience anymore. Just not for me, and get sick of hearing about it. Again, see above example of the victorious team or fighter praising Allah, the Jesus, the Trix rabbitt, for everything while the defeated team is left to wonder why their god hung them out to dry. Funny how that works out. Just my thought on it.

The fact is people were ok with Reggie White/Chris Carter./Ray Lewis yet Tebow is somehow jabbed at. The comments were directed to the fact Gellman decide to "Reverend" him as a jab. It is a double standard when nobody laughs at Ray Ray. The most fake Christian I have ever seen. Where was Gellman when Chris Carter was all about God in his press conferences and celebrations. Oh wait that is ok cause it is not Tebow
