Dear Andrew E,
We are pleased to announce that we have been selected by Upper Deck to be one of only a few Authorized Internet Retailers in the United States. Unfortunately, this agreement dramatically changes who we can sell to:

* We can no longer sell to Canada until the product has been out for a full year
* We can no longer sell to stores or re-sellers until the product has been out 90 days

Upper Deck has also made some changes that make it vital for customers to purchase their product from Authorized Retailers. In the unlikely event there is a product issue with your box or case (damages, collations, missing cards, etc...) Upper Deck Customer Care will be able to assist you. If you purchase new Upper Deck product from a non-authorized re-seller Upper Deck will likely not be able to assist. Additionally, if you need help with redemptions and purchased from an Authorized Retailer you will get enhanced customer support.

For collectors and box breakers there has never been a better time to buy new Upper Deck products from us!

Important: In the event that you purchase a box from us and attempt to re-sell it within 90 days of the product's release date, it is highly likely this will be found out by the Upper Deck Hobby Enforcement Team. If the box is tracked back to you as the seller, Upper Deck will be providing Authorized Retailers with a Do Not Sell list, meaning you will not be able to acquire Upper Deck product in the future.

If you are interested in purchasing new Upper Deck product from us your intent must be to open the product, not to re-sell the boxes.

Thank You,
Dave and Adam's Card World

I wonder how they enforce the no re-selling part, but in general this screws over the collector. I have no B&M shop within an hour or more from me. Panini did something similar, but was only a month I think on internet sales compared to 3 months.

This is good for the Card Shops in Canada though

What card shops?

They are pretty much scaring all wholesalers. If I dont have a card shop close to me.. how do I bust my product? I technically cant since im not allowed to buy from a US retailer?

How about this.. I get my friend to buy a box from dave & Adams. He then sends it to me cross border as a gift. Try and prove that in court that he didnt send it as a gift lol. This is pathetic attempt to help out B&M shops that will never work. Come sue me for getting a gift in the mail!!

Court :P? I'm pretty sure they'd just try and track down who sold the box to you and add him to the "black list". There's no way they could do anything beyond that.

As far as their intent, I like it. Trying to stop places like blowout from being able to undercut hobby shops is a good idea. I think they are going about it wrong though. And if they are trying to tell me I can't do whatever I want with what I buy(like re-sell the box online), they can kiss my ass lol.

Why blowout is opening a store and becoming a distributor

They should already have a storefront if they get the cards direct from UD and Panini. You have to have a storefront for Panini direct pricing and for UD I believe. With the old Donruss, you had to have a storefront, provide pics of the storefront showing your address, Make over 50% of your sales through sports cards and have your place decorated with sports items. You also had to have pics of all four walls.
