Since I didn't get a chance to make this comment yesterday due to the thread being locked, I'll ask it now. Hopefully my status as a non-customer won't get me scolded...

We now know how the cards got from Leaf to the big chain distributor, but not how how they got to the eBay seller. Is there a possibility that these cards were stolen from that distributor, and that they should be following up with BigBoyd or whatever his name is for having received the cards improperly? Or has it been confirmed that they just went out and directly sold the cards?

If a card is serial numbered does it matter how they get into the market? The perception is that there are that many produced and value is thus assessed.

i saw nothing wrong with the old thread being locked under the circumstances. hopefully the more sane of those with questions for BG will get their answers and then this one can be locked, too. i was a mod on a now defunct forum a few years back and it's not easy to deal with discussions where half the people are just aimlessly hating and the other half are trying to reasonably sort through an issue.

As for Jeff's gripe in the OP...it's valid. I don't know why all of you who are just dismissing it as "boo hoo jeff, your player tanked, therefore we're going to completely invalidate your gripe". It's legitimate (and wouldn't be the first time). BG has given some nice generic/legal-ese explanations, but so far hasn't answered any specifics (that are relevant).

I'm sure everyone appreciates you "putting yourself out there", much much more than other companies. But part of that includes taking the heat along with the promotion.

Obviously Jeff is free to gripe, but two key factors have not changed:

1) still numbered to 25
2) no substantial change in the value of the cards

To me, a change in the above would make a more substantial argument for feeling abused, mistreated or some wrong..
