I just got a message on ebay from a member asking what the book value of the Lincecum auto im selling. What buyer asks that they should research that for themselves. Anyone ever have somehting similar happen to them?

I really don't think this is cause to be up in arms. It's a pretty legitimate question, albeit a tad outdated. I certainly wouldn't be insulted by it.

With that being said, I would have no idea what to tell him since I haven't purchased a Beckett since the last Mets World Series appearance :lol:

It happens. Maybe that person doesn't waste their money on a price guide. Although if they put their faith in it they should fund it.

If I'm trying to trade with somebody, and they tell me they only trade using bv, then I ask what their stuff is worse because I have more important things to invest money in than an outdated magazine or a crook website.

No...whats funny is when somebody wants to do a trade and says they will only go by BV and then when somebody has something they want to trade for...they ask what the book on it is.You ONLY go by BV but you don't know what it is on the cards you want?Now that is pretty odd.
