If a group break was done by team certain teams would have more players (for example the Rockies have 5 players in the set - Helton, Walker, Bichette, Castilla, and Burks). Other teams would be much more valuable (Mariners with Griffey and Arod). Plus the buy in would get tough for teams such as the White Sox which would pit Mansgame against the Frank Thomas collectors and me against the resident Ellis Burks collector. So you'd more than likely face multiple spots wanted by multiple board members.

And I collect Ventura, so I'd want a piece of the White Sox action too. It would be complicated.

Great point by you and Corockies on this. Seems like most box breaks are done by team, but this might be the one set that is more box(s) break player friendly. But not 90 individual lots. I love the way RStadler did his 9 lot break 2-3 years ago. Wish I was on here then (lot 9:p). Seems like the # of player collectors on here has grown the last 2 years or so. Think there are 3-4 White Sox PC's alone. To the point that maybe 18 lots of 5 players each would work. Evenly mixed of course, with particapant trading taking place before the break. That would drop the price for break players. I would be happy with a Thome, King, Kotsay, Karros, Kendall lot. Just my out of the box .02 cents worth.

Thank you guys for all the input and info on box breaks. Some really interesting stuff. Keep the idea's and suggestions coming, in case somebody on here runs into 4 cheap boxes of 98 Tek. ;-)

Yeah, I noticed the Jeters going for $63. I didn't think they would go that high, but he was a great player. 3 Gwynn's went for around $150 a few months ago.

No one buys those boxes for $475, I smell something going on.

Yeah, $475 a box is really crazy high. This is really an awesome set but I don't see boxes ever going much higher than that ($500 max). It's great that this set has stayed this hot for so long. Eventually though, when big time Tek collectors start selling off their Tek collections, it will come down. But I hope not!

I went through your extensive set want list (Impressive!!) and was wonderng if you had any Focus 2000 portrait versions of 226though 250 Prospects card or any Focus manias #d to 300

I have a 200-300 count box of 1999 TEKs somewhere around here . I started the 99 TEK set and decided 98 was enough as a 2700 base card set plus other cards of 99 TEKs was something I did not want to chase.

Unfortunately, I don't have any doubles of the 2000 Fleer Focus 226-250 or any of the Manias.

The fact that this card got a 10 from any grading business is kinda interesting. I would not touch this card for my own collection. I see a horizontal print line, missing foil from the yellow, and missing foil from the design on the upper portion of the card.

I just hope no one pays more than $8 for that card because that's the book value and anyone who pays $12 is obviously driving up the price for no reason and stealing the $8 card from the people who rightfully deserve to have the card for their 6th card-number+61 pattern set ::facepalm::

But , but , but what I pay should be what all people should follow. And I'm tired of saying I'm going away and complaining so please just stop paying more than me and I'll send you a SASE for what I need, deal?
