Per Wikipedia--
Tulip mania was a period in the Dutch Golden Age during which contract prices for bulbs of the recently introduced tulip reached extraordinarily high levels and then suddenly collapsed. At the peak of tulip mania, in March 1637, some single tulip bulbs sold for more than 10 times the annual income of a skilled craftsman. It is generally considered the first recorded speculative bubble (or economic bubble). The term "tulip mania" is now often used metaphorically to refer to any large economic bubble (when asset prices deviate from intrinsic values).
Tulip bulbs = 1998 Tek box or Tek diffractor?
It's really not mind blowing, guys. Boxes pop up for between $175 - $190 dlvd on BINs and sell. I saw that happen about three times in 2012. That is the current market and has been for some time. That's why any boxes that pop up for under $175 get snatched up in a matter of minutes.
If I had you'd be seeing a thread for a group box break![]()
Not a good price for group breaking.
Not trying to get into a pissing match but you said that's fair price. Shocked you watched it go

I'm sure y'all have seen it by now but a bunch of 1998 Topps Tek's hit eBay tonight by the same seller... base look like starting at $2 and $13 BIN's... Diffractors starting bid at $20 and BIN's then at $40! God it's annoying to see your guy show up with a diffractor but starting bid at $20 or a freaking $40 BIN!
