Just got through reading all 113 pages of this awesome thread. Took me a while. Thanks rustygreerfan for starting this cool Tek thread. I found it really interesting. Thanks to Richard I am now trying to collect all 90 base patterns of Jim Thome. Doesn't seem like there are many Thome Tek collectors from reading this thread. I looked on ebay, sportlots, and comc but didn't see many 1998 Thome Tek cards. If anybody has any please let me know. Thanks.

Is the same guy (or same few people) buying all those sealed boxes, or are there a bunch of people going after them?

Tough to tell I bet.

Part of me feels it's a board like ours who have a group who have basically committed to "rights" to players for a certain amount of money and then it's safe for one guy to buy on behalf up to a certain amount because he knows it's covered. For example, I'd easily be willing to put up $5 or maybe up to $10 for the rights to all Belle cards pulled in a certain sealed box. You don't need many people like me to justify a $150-175 box... obviously considering there are players who are more $ for the same right, ie Jeter, McGwire, etc.

I don't think I saw it on any of the posts but how do you tell a diffractor card from the base card? I'm guessing it's like the 1994 Finest set but I'm not sure. Any help is appreciated.

The base cards have a refractor type of shine and the defractors have that atomic refractor look to them.

As a player collector, waiting for the final few cards to spike which you need is terrible haha... they're essentially base cards but just something I can't wait to put behind me. I hope all the people buying up these boxes rip that stuff and flip it right back up on eBay because I need some help for Belle!

Man, these cards are tough to find. Only 2 Thome Tek cards between ebay, sportlots, and COMC. What are some other sites to look at that might have them? I know Togaman has some but I haven't seen him on here in a while. If anybody finds any please let me know. Thanks for looking.

Do we have or can we get a "player needs" database? I notice people post their needs and then they get buried in this popular thread. Someone know if we have this? Is this possible to do? I have a small lot coming and don't want to sift through 113 pages to see who needs what.

I think the issue was if you had a list it wouldn't be updated, so you want to avoid me going to the LCS and buying you a card on the master list and then come to find out you already got it at some point and didn't update anyone. I think it's just better for people who have cards available to just list them out and those of us who pay attention can check for the cards they need? 6 one way and half a dozen the other I guess. I only need four patterns, so I'm easy and just am interested in what Belle's people have... even thinking about doing another set of 90...
