There are 2 1998 Vlad's on Sportlots but neither card has pattern number listed. Seller speedy4u does answer questions and is a fast shipper.

Thanks, I mined Sportslots and COMC to get where I'm at. Luckily I started out with a 44-card pattern lot buy. I'll just continue to pick them up when I see them at my price point, no hurry. Part of a larger Vladdy project to go after all of the ridiculous parallel sets (98, 99 and 2000 Tek, 2004 Leaf Exhibits, 2005 Epix, Polo Grounds, Prestigious Pros, Sportscasters and Studio Portraits). Definitely long term project.

That's my approach to Olerud Teks. If I find a pattern at the price I want to pay I'll pick it up, but Teks have no higher priority for me than other Olerud cards I need.

I have been cheering for MansGame to find his last few Belles for a while though! Guy is on a mission! :)

I feel like it's closing in on a year that I've been down to the last 2. I'm honestly so sick of looking lol

Edit- and as tired as I am of searching I doubt that stops me from grabbing some 2014!

Thanks dude! Yea, I'm for sure on a mission. As Brewer Andy said above, it does start to not be that fun anymore when you go SO long without finding any patterns. I guess the beginning of the search was a lot more fun then the end. I'm down to three patterns and can't express how happy I will be when it is all over. Finding diffractors will always be out there but I don't lose sleep at night finding or seeing those as much as I do about the base patterns ;)

I've been struggling too. I went through some of my posts on this thread and I think it's been over six months, and maybe even this entire year since I've knocked one off my list. And I still need 11! The biggest problem has been someone or someones outbidding me on ebay. I plan to list some Buhner base dupes in hopes of finding another Buhner collector. I sure miss the old days when you could figure out who was the high bidder.

If anyone can help, my Buhner want list is in my sig.

I'll try to post a list of my Tek for trade soon.

My Price point is High Beckett when selling or trading. If a buyer isn't willing to ante up that is certainly fine and if someone prefers to spend weeks or months looking for cards for a deal to save $.50 to complete their sets then that is certainly their prerogative and who am I to argue with their modus operandi?

That's a good point Carl. For all I know it might have taken me months or years to get one of the 4 Thome cards you sold me this year. Especially the pattern #1 . I still haven't found pattern #90 . Time to google modus operandi.:?

One of you guys should put together one post (and update it with regularly bumps as lists are updated) showing specific 1998 Topps TEK patterns needed by the posters on this board who are down to say final 30 1998 TEKs of their favorite player to complete 90 card sets.

Funny how collectors will drop $3-5 on a pack of new cards and then whine with indignation about paying high Beckett for a card over 16 years old. I too am always looking for a deal especially on ebay but when it get to finishing sets or elusive cards I just ante up so I don't have to waste time (Time is money they say) looking and looking for that card again.

I finished an old set last night of 2002 Ultra Gold Medallions with a Nomar Garciaparra and a few weeks ago my 2005 Topps Turkey Red White Border set with a Scott Hairston # 218. Need a Ripken 582 White Border to complete my 2006 Turkey Red White Border set.
Think Im going to focus now on finishing my Same Card #/ Pattern 1998 TEK set which needs these 6 cards to complete my 90 card set
That set then has an example of each pattern in one 90 card set.

1998 TEK Same Card #/ pattern # Want List (Set # 2)
13p13(McGwire), 21p21(Clemens), 41p41(P Martinez), 51p51(Ripken), 61p61(Glaus), 63p63(Konerko)

plus these 1998 Topps cards

Mussina.......Card # 80 Pat # 35 for a separate Card #/ Uniform # set
AJ Hinch......Card # 83 Pat #56 (Replace)
Lankford......Card # 90 Pat # 90 ------------------(need 2)

14,90
These are the diffractors I have:

Only 65 to go. That might take til around 2037 to get all 90 but a nice long term goal is always fun to chase.

What extra O Neill Teks do you have? Im all sold out but need a mint of O'neill pattern # 24 for a condition upgrade card to the one I have in my Master Set which is slightly scratched up.
